A message from our Chief...
I would like to thank you for stopping by our website to learn more about Our Family. Please check back often to see what is new as we continue to strive to improve our department so that ultimately more lives and property can be saved.
2011 proved to be a very challenging and rewarding year for us. It has been a very busy year for us responding to over 300 calls for help and assistance. 2011 saw the completion of the half million dollar ARRA funded Biggersville North Station. With the completion of this station we have dramatically reduced the response time to the north portion of our service area. After the completion of the north station we were notified by the Mississippi Rating Bureau that we now meet all the qualifications to extend our Class 9 rating to everyone in the Biggersville service area. This completes a 4 year long project to reduce insurance cost for our residents. We also purchased another set of extrication tools that are located at the North Station.
We have been very fortunate to obtain grants to improve our facilities and equipment. This will continue into 2012 with the recent AFG award for a new brush truck and a new pumper tanker. These two new trucks will allow us to get rid of two unsafe converted retired military vehicles. These trucks, which should be delivered fall of 2012, will help serve our department for many years to come.
We are always looking for people who would like to give back to their community and be a part of ‘Our Family’. We have a variety of positions at our department, not all involve firefighting. If you are interested click here to send us an email or attend one of our business meetings on the second Tuesday of each month at 7PM at the North Station.
Please feel free to call or email me anytime you have any questions, comments or concerns about the department.
Again thanks for stopping by . . .
Chief Patrick Claunch
